I started out doing Weight Watchers online. Why Weight Watchers online? Well I have a friend who has been my inspiration who is using the regular weight watchers and has lost over 140 lbs. She is a total inspiration to me and looks great and I know she must feel lots better. I decided on WW online after looking at the meeting schedules for ones around me and really thinking they did not fit into my schedule. And it cost more than I wanted to pay to go to a meeting. Plus I figured I could do it on my own with the online version. Those of you who know me personally know I do everything online, I even found my husband online. So on Monday June 22, 2009 I started bright and early. I weighed in and let the losing begin.
My plan was to do WW Online and start walking each day and building up my endurance, stamina and fitness. Well you know the first day I was just so darn proud of myself I thought hey I did good, I will start the walking tomorrow, let's not do too much in one day. The next day I think it rained and the next as well. Oh well, I came up with a great idea, Week 1 will be getting the eating down right, Week 2 I will start the exercise part of the program.
So that first week, I did great, because I was in the ZONE. Nothing was going to keep me from eating on plan. And I did great I lost 8 lbs that first week. Must have had a lot of sodium the week before. But hey it was a huge start.
I figured with Weight Watchers I could eat most anything as long as I stayed within the points. And it was working well for me. If I was short of time I could pop in at McDonald's and eat something or I could eat at Wendy's. My success I figured was going to be tied to convenience. I was really not into cooking up all kinds of food. I did not want the hassle or all of that thought and planning that goes into buying food for a week. I was planning on doing 2 Smart Ones Dinners a day and the selection is so great I had a great variety. Add some fresh fruit and salad to boot, I was all ready. Breakfast was a no brainer Special K, 1 % milk and a grapefruit.
So the 2nd Week came and went with no exercise. I had one excuse after another. Too hot, too dark, too tired, you name it I rationalized it one way or another and hey I had lost 8 lbs without exercising, so who needed it anyway. And when it came time to weigh in I had lost another 3 lbs. Wow this was really working for me. And it was not a struggle, because I was in the ZONE. I knew this time I would lose the weight because I had the mindset to lose it. I did not want to gain one more ounce before I started to get thin.
I was really pumped because after 2 weeks I was down 11 lbs. That was a HUGE boost for me.

About Me
Welcome All,
I thought I would share my journey with getting fit with everyone who is interested. So choose to read or not read. To begin with I should tell you a little about myself.
My name is Pam and I am 45 years old. I am married to Brad and we have 5 fur Kids. They are Weetabix - a yellow Labrador, Millenium Beagle - a tricolored beagle, Rocky - a walker coon hound mix, Mr Ding Ding - a black lab mix and Veronique - a brindle mix of some sort.
My job is very sedentary and up to this point I have not really tried to change that in any way. I am not you would call physically active, although I have been more active at other times in my life. I have always thought exercise was 2 four letter words.
I am going to try and be really honest about my journey to lose weight, get fit and more importantly keep the weight OFF. When I started my current journey on June 22 2009, I weighed in at a whopping 236 lbs and was wearing 20W and 22W size clothes. I am 5 ft 6 in tall as well. I had finally decided the weight was coming off this summer. And I meant it. I did not take any measurements which I regret, but I am going to get those this week.
I will strive to use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation and I welcome edits. My personal motto regarding this area is Bad Spellers of World Untie.
Until next time. Keep Fit.
Pam
